Woke before my alarm clock and finished some last minute packing. Mum called with some late advice. Caught the bus into town at 9:20 and had a coffee with Stefan Tunfors who hailed me from across the street.
Bought Interrail ticket from SJ ticket office in Lund and caught and booked the night train from Copenhagen to Köln at the same time (and also some other journeys that I never used). Total cost ~4900 SEK. Got the 10:42 train to Copenhagen where I checked in my baggage at the left luggage and left to explore Copenhagen. Picked up a free tourist map and started out on their 3-hour walking tour of the city.
Had a peek inside the university library near Studistrase, took a photo of Niels Bohr's bust and bought food at Netto (which doesn't accept VISA cards). Had to go and get cash out from a cashpoint which did not accept my Nordea card, so had to use my UK VISA card!
Walked on to a nice park where they had a "Jazz for kids" tent and every family with small children had congregated there. After resting a while, walked on on the walking tour through the Citadel, back through the Palace and on to Stroeget (lack of Danish accent noted). Checked out the three live, open-air Jazz events, all part of Copenhagen Jazz festival. The last one, outside Pumpehuset, was the best by far.
I had to leave half-way through their set to go back to the train station, collect my luggage and get on the train, which was just pulling into the station. Shared a 6-bed cabin with an Aussie, Mark, 2 icelanders and 2 danes.
