Got Danny (Alex's housemate) to drive me to the station at some ungodly hour of the morning. The flight from Sydney to Auckland was on a LAN Chile flight and all the instructions were given in Spanish and English! In Auckland the sun was shining and Sam had been waiting 40 minutes for me as my flight had been delayed on leaving Sydney. He drove me to their house via the bottle store to pick up a few beers which gave us a chance to catch up on things. I'd met Sam 2 years ago in Lund when he was studying Law for a term. He was now a qualified Solicitor and newly engaged to Sarah, his girlfriend of 2 years. We got back to his place and some of his friends had already gathered for the informal BBQ engagement party that he and Sarah had planned the Monday before. The evening went well and I chatted to many of his friends who all seemed to be planning to work and travel in the UK soon. After all the guests had left we got a taxi and spent the rest of the evening in the bars of Auckland.
